Talking to God, Asking Questions and Looking At This Thing in a Different Light

I have a website for the Christmas song, "Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus", www.myspace.com/shirleythomasmusic that God has blessed me release this past week (December 2007). I did not like the picture that I saw on the front page of my website one morning. But then I said to myself, think about the scriptures and thoughts you have been studying in Bible college these last few weeks.

When God wants to do something in the earth, He looks for a man. (Ezekiel 22:29-31). I look for a man to stand in the gap and found none.

Then one of the other scriptures/thoughts from the book, Understanding the Purpose and Power of Prayer by Dr. Miles Monroe, God can do nothing unless we pray. God is limited by our prayer life; that is, He can do nothing until a man ask Him. (Genesis 1:26-27 and Luke 4:5-6) And through prayer we allow and permit God to intervene in our lives and in the lives of others.

Then from the book, Purpose Driven life by Rick Warren, elaborating on the scripture and thought that everything in this world was made by God, created by God and belongs to God. I got to thinking that this free website that has my Christmas song on it belongs to God. Everything in this world belongs to God. We have allowed the things that belong to God to not be used in its fullness for edification, education, and for values that help our fellow man. I was upset because I was thinking that my Christian friends, my associates, co-workers, or people that I meet or have met in my times passing, would go to the website and see these different, interested things that maybe is not my world and I would be embarrassed. But it’s not about me. I know that many expressions on the free website that I receive are not me. I know now that I can pray for others and things be turned around especially for people who are seeking truth and a way to have a good life but just are victims of being taught or told that what is wrong is right and what is evil is now good. We have to pray that the eyes of ones’ heart be enlighten to know what choices they should make in life.

That’s where we come in as the church. We have the power to pray in the Name of Jesus. If we ask anything in that Name, God will do it. We have the power to pray in "other tongues" if you are filled with the Holy Spirit and turn things around for others, this nation, ourselves, the nations around the world.

Look at the situation where young people are getting so depressed or desponded because they feel they have no value or are of no value in life, go to a public place, killed up everyone and then turn the gun on themselves. That should not be when we, the church, have the power to pray in our lives. I am making a call to the church to turn back to prayer. Pray in tongues one hour a day. Call a prayer meeting in churches and pray in tongues over our nation, over our children, over their minds, over the wars and devastation that is attacking our world. God can do nothing unless we pray. So I said, let the free website friends come and visit the site. On the front page of the website, I will take off the ones who have chosen not to wear many clothes and no clothes at all. But this gives me an opportunity to pray for them in tongues. Then God answers because He knows what every individual needs. The Bible says, when we don’t know what to pray for, pray in the spirit, for God knows what every individual needs.

Who’s to say, that this is not the devil’s static to keep us the church from the free websites for getting the message of Jesus out. Millions of people every day goes to these websites that don’t know Jesus. We can get our witness in at least once, when they click to our website, read our testimony, listen to our song, etc. Then the devil says if Christians see something come up on their websites that they don’t believe in or agree with, I can make them stay off of get off. They won’t participate on these websites anymore because of what people may think about them. This could be a way for us to get the message out freely, especially for those just beginning in the ministry and don’t yet have the monies manifested in our lives and/or in their ministries to go on major networks. So the devil allows something to come up on our sites that makes us stay off or get off all together.

My appeal to us as believers, let’s bomabard the heavens with prayer. There are precious people out there all over the world who (may or may not know it) but they are looking for direction, they are looking for hope. They are looking for a way to find their purpose, fulfill their hopes and dreams, express themselves. Our prayers would cause the Heavenly Father to speak to them, to draw them to Himself, minister to them in their sleeping hours, in their quiet time and their lives be changed and/or they be given that hope when they may have wanted to commit suicide, rob a bank, highjack a car, etc. Everybody has to sleep sometime or get quiet sometime. We have the Name of Jesus and through that Name we can do great things in the earth through our prayers. IT’S TIME TO PRAY
